The NH-D9 DX-4189 4U features a larger, custom-designed contact surface for LGA4189 platforms. Based on the proven, 92mm size NH-D9L heatsink and equipped with two of Noctuas award-winning, PWM controlled NF-A9 92mm fans (high-efficiency 2500rpm version), it combines strong performance with excellent compatibility for 4U systems and other space-restricted applications. The NH-D9s direction of airflow is parallel to the long axis of the LGA4189 socket, so it is ideal for server builds where the coolers fans should work in tandem with the airflow inside the chassis, or for workstation builds where this orientation is required for having the cooler exhaust towards the top of the case. Topped off with the professional SecuFirm2 mounting system and pre-applied NT-H1 thermal compound, the NH-D9 DX-4189 4U forms a complete premium quality package for quietly cooling LGA3647 based Xeon workstations and servers. DX series for Intel Xeon First introduced in 2008, Noctuas DX line CPU coolers have become a standard choice when it comes to quiet, premium grade air cooling solutions for Intel Xeon processors. Thanks to their superior acoustic efficiency, they are ideal for workstations and servers that run in noise sensitive environments (e.g. audio/video production, content creation, engineering, etc.). Customised for LGA4189 The new DX-4189 line coolers are dedicated, customised solutions for Intels professional LGA4189 platform (Whitley), which makes them an ideal fit for both Ice Lake-SP based 3rd generation Xeon Scalable CPUs (Platinum, Gold, Silver or Bronze) and W-3300 series Xeon processors for workstations (Ice Lake-64L). Enlarged contact surface At 70x56mm, the heatsinks copper contact surface is more than double the size of the standard model. Tailored to fit the enormous integrated heat-spreaders (IHS) of Intels LGA4189-based processors, this customised design allows for an optimal heat flow from the CPU over the base to the heatpipes and on to the cooling fins. SecuFirm2 mounting system with standard Intel parts Integrating standard Intel parts such as the anti-tilt mechanism, Torx T30 PEEK nuts and LGA4189-4 (P4) CPU carrier frame, the coolers mounting system is fully compliant with Intels installation guidelines and provides a familiar mounting procedure for experienced LGA4189 users. A Torx T30 mounting tool is included. LGA4189-4 (P4) CPU carrier frame The scope of delivery includes an LGA4189-4 (P4) type CPU carrier frame for Intel Ice Lake-SP and Ice Lake-64L based processors (Whitley platform). However, the heatsinks SecuFirm2 mounting system also supports P5 type LGA4189 sockets (LGA4189-5) for Intel Cooper Lake based processors. CPU carrier frames for LGA4189-5 are available on request via [email protected]. Compact 92mm size for best compatibility Thanks to its compact footprint (95x95mm with center fan only, second fan can be installed on either side depending on available space) and a total height of only 134mm, the NH-D9 DX-4189 4U provides excellent PCIe compatibility and is small enough to fit most 4U size rack-mount enclosures. Dual NF-A9 PWM fans The NH-D9 DX-4189 4U is equipped with two of Noctuas award-winning NF-A9 92mm fans in their high-speed 2500rpm HS-PWM variant. This push/pull dual fan configuration makes it possible to achieve a level of cooling performance that is remarkable for such a compact cooler and comes close to the bigger NH-U12S DX-4189. PWM support and y-cable The NF-A9 premium fans supplied with the NH-D9 DX-4189 4U support PWM for convenient automatic speed control through the motherboard, which allows them to run near silent at lighter loads and to speed up only when necessary. The supplied y-cable makes it possible to power and control both fans simultaneously from a single motherboard fan header. Pre-applied NT-H1 thermal compound Noctuas much-acclaimed NT-H1 is a pro-grade TIM solution that provides minimum thermal resistance and outstanding long-term stability. Having the paste pre-applied to the heatsink base ensures optimal bond-line thickness and saves precious time in installation. Ideal for system integrators!
